Overview
The NQF level 4 New Venture Creation qualification provides potential and existing entrepreneurs with more complex knowledge and skills required to be an entrepreneur. They will be able to establish and develop a small to medium business venture, and address the economic, administrative and behavioural (psycho-social) barriers that contribute to success in starting and sustaining such a venture. This in turn will enable them to explore a diverse range of entrepreneurial opportunities. Candidates will become more empowered in softer skills such as management and leadership within the entrepreneurial space.

Duration
7 months (Split into 2-4 days a month)
Outline
The programme covers 5 basic areas:
- Identify and create a new venture
- Learn about the interpersonal skills required in a business environment
- Understand basic economics within a market economy
- Manage a new venture by applying business principles and techniques
- Gain an understanding of the role of leadership and management
The specific outline is as follows:
- Module 1: Start and run a new venture
- Module 2: Business writing skills
- Module 3: Business communication 2nd language
- Module 4: Human resources management
- Module 5: Management of a new venture
- Module 6: Manage the finances of a new venture

Online or in-person, depending on client requirements
Entry Requirements
- Standard 9/Grade 11 OR English & Mathematical Literacy both at NQF level 3
- Certified copy of highest qualification
- Updated CV
- Letter from the learner’s employer or hosting company, confirming that the learner is employed or hosted by the company: Must be on the company letterhead
- Must include the learner’s names and surname (as per their ID or passport copy)
- Must include the learner’s ID/passport number
- Must state the learner’s job title and start date of employment
- If the learner is self-employed then business registration certificates need to be submitted
